About the event
"Stolpersteine" was created by artist Gunter Demnig to honour and generate awareness of the people who died or were persecuted between 1933 and 1945 by the National Socialists. In cementing victim's names on brass plaques installed in the sidewalks in front of their last chosen place of residence, we memorialize their humanness, and let it serve as a reminder to all those who cross its threshold that to persecute one person, is to persecute all of humanity.
On August 10, 2023, AG Spurensuche Schlachtensee will lay nine Stolpersteine for the Sultan Victorius Guttsmann family. While their fates were varied, their commitment to humanity, love and family could not be extinguished. These traits are carried forth in the next generations of family members, and they come together from near and far to honour the deep roots that connect them today.
